Making their final pitch and putting
forth convincing answers to the tough questions posed by the panel of judges,
the 5 finalist teams gave their very best with Team 4K from Singapore Polytechnic emerging as the champ and won the top
prize of $4,000 at the grand finale of Supply Chain Challenge++ on 24 July 2019 at the Singapore University of Social Sciences
(SUSS).

The First Runner-up
- Team JCUBES and Second Runner-up - Team Volte, both from Ngee Ann Polytechnic,
won cash prize of $2,000 and $1,000 respectively.
The respective
mentor-companies of the winning teams were no less jubilant. Sharing their great achievements as the
winners went on stage to receive their cash prizes / Champion trophy from Mr
Kay Kong Swan - SLA Chairman and Professor Tsui Kai Chong - SUSS Provost were more than 210 representatives from the industry, mentor-companies,
lecturers and polytechnics students.
In his
welcome address, SLA Chairman Mr Kay Kong Swan said that Singapore commemorated
its Bicentennial – 200th anniversary of Sir Stamford Raffles' arrival in
Singapore this year and fast forward to now becoming a reputable logistics hub,
constantly changing to adapt to the external factors. Singapore is now ranked
by the World Bank as Asia’s top logistics hub for 10 years in a row. With the
same spirit of embracing changes, he urged companies to harnessing technology
and embrace new business models to achieve business growth and sustainability.
Mr Thomas Chee representing Winspec Logistics Services Pte Ltd - mentor
company of a winner in last year’s Challenge, illustrated their success story
to implementation the proposed solution with a technology partner – Ent-Vision
under GeoWorks.
The award ceremony kicked start with Mr Kay Kong Swan - SLA Chairman,
presenting the Certificate of Merit and team plaque to the 10 semi-finalist teams.

Provost, acknowledged the invaluable contribution of the 5 mentor-companies
with the presentation of plaques. Professor Tsui proceeded to give tokens of
appreciation to the judging panel comprising Mr Stanley Lim – SLA Honorary
Treasurer, Mr John Iversen – SLA Council Member as well as Dr Yap Wei Yim –
Senior Lecturer and Dr Loh Hui Shan – Lecturer, both from the School of
Business, SUSS.
